Our Projects
Take Heart participates in community outreach through mentor circles throughout South Bend. All of our mentors are formerly incarcerated individuals, striving to provide perspective to our community’s youth and work to reduce the high school-to-prison pipeline. Our mentor circles implement the techniques of Restorative Justice to provide mentor figures and community for at-risk youth in our area. Take Heart runs mentor circles for youth at Woodford Home, Safe Passage, and Riley High School. Additionally, all of our mentors meet each week for their own circle.
